The New Journey: Navigating Parenthood

In 2018, my wife and I were close to the end of our rope when it came to the question of whether or not we would be blessed with the opportunity to become parents. it was a lengthy, up and down process over four years and seeking intervention and help from reproductive associates. in the end, without any further help, we had Emery in 2019.

 A lot of things happened during my wife’s first pregnancy—including my wife hitting endless amounts of information. From articles, to documentaries and books, she set her heart on a naturalistic labor. She shared most of this media with me, which cracked open an unexplored territory for me. I had never before known the criticisms against pregnancy, labor and delivery in America—and if you have never had reason to, you probably were like me circa 2018: the only knowledge I had was the piss poor represntations in movies and television, none of which even come close to hitting the mark.
